30 Days To Success With Women – Day 18

Today’s exercise is an important one.

Have you ever watched the show “Lie To Me”? It’s a pretty compelling crime drama show that uses the premise that we give away our emotions all the time in our facial expression and body language. They give dozens of examples each episode, and it’s a really good show. I highly recommend you watch it to get some of these fundamentals.

Reading people (especially women) is a very important part of learning how to be effective in social situations. When we observe a facial expression that we understand – like concern, for instance – and we do nothing about it, we cause more problems down the road. (As they say, Cleopatra ain’t the only queen of denial.)

So to that end, I wanted to give you a little exercise today that would be meaningful.

Take a look at these images, and see which of them you can label with an emotion. You might also think back to when you have seen this before and the situation you encountered it in.

(Yeah, some of them are a bit goofy, but you can still find a root emotion in most of them.)

Also, start watching people’s expressions and mentally determining what their emotion is behind it. This is an invaluable skill, especially when you have to read a woman’s emotional state.

And now comes a reference for you. You can look at this palette of computer generated expressions to fine tune your recognition of some of the indicators.
